Pipe Sizing
Pipe work - External Requirements
The supply pipe work for any application should be designed by a Calor specialist to ensure it provides an adequate supply of gas and that it conforms to the relevant standards. (ROI - I.S.820. and NI - LPGA C.O.P. 22)
A Calor specialist will advise on the most appropriate pipe sizes for a particular application.
All pipe work specifications recommended by Calor must be strictly adhered to.
For internal installations, the responsibility for maintaining standards, soundness,
afety and satisfactory operation rest with the installer who must be appropriately qualified. (NI - CORGI Registered)
Main service pipe from the Calor tank must be laid in a trench, cut by the developer.
The trench must have a minimum depth of 600mm and 750mm where it passes under roadways or grass verges.
Where any risk of damage exists, the depth must be increased, the pipe protected and its presence indicated with tracer tape.
Covering the trench is also the responsibility of the developer. Galvanised steel pipe must be used above ground. Polyethylene may be used below ground and care must be taken that it is not exposed to sunlight or mechanical damage.
