Calor Gas - the cleaner, high efficiency, fossil fuel
Throughout the country, people are revaluating the way they live their lives. Global warming is a reality. The climate is getting warmer due to the increased volume of CO2 that is escaping into the atmosphere. The times they are a changin’ as the song goes and we have to change with them if we are to pass on a healthy planet to our children.
One way in which we can make a real difference to the environment is to choose the appropriate fuels to meet our home energy needs. Getting this energy mix right will lead to lower emissions and a reduced carbon footprint. This will help the environment and reduce energy costs.
Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is more environmentally friendly than other fossil fuels, producing significantly lower CO2 emissions than oil, coal, peat and electricity. Unlike other fuels, LPG does not emit smoke particles to the air, which reduces our air quality. LPG also removes the environmental risks associated with unforeseen events like oil fuel spillages.
As Calor Gas is the leading distributor of LPG in Ireland, we care about the environment and are committed to pressing for sustainable development in this area.This is Calor’s commitment and its goal.

Ensuring Progress
Just as Calor Gas continues to improve its performance in health, safety and quality, it is committed to developing a positive environmental culture. This commitment and culture is driven by the management team and implemented by those involved in the day to day control of its processes and service standards.
We will continue to review our current environmental performance. This information will give us objective measurements in order to identify areas of improvement, enabling targets to be set and the necessary action plans to be implemented.
In addition we will continue to review and adopt best practice industry solutions in order to minimise the risk to all forms of pollution from our own operations, whenever possible.
Calor Gas is also developing an environmental management system (EMS) based on ISO: 14001, as an integral part of its existing health, safety and quality management systems. This will ensure caring for the environment becomes an equally important integrated and fundamental part of our everyday business culture. Appropriate resources are made available to ensure that this environmental policy is fully implemented.
We will seek to educate and train our staff to act in an environmentally responsible manner and would like to hear from anyone within or outside the company with ideas on how we can improve our environmental performance. Click here to email us or to record your comments.
