Ordering Calor Gas

CALOR LIQUIFIED PETROLEUM GAS

Calor Gas cylinders are specially designed to store the fuel in its liquid state. The liquid turns to gas and gas fills the space above the liquid in the cylinder.

As gas is drawn off, more liquid turns to gas to replace it. A regulator fitted in the supply line between the cylinder and the appliance keeps the pressure of the gas constant as the cylinder empties - until there is no liquid left to turn to gas.

BULK TANK or CYLINDERS

Calor Gas can be supplied to you via a Bulk Tank or via a range of cylinder sizes. The decision as to which to install will depend on the application for the gas, the gas usage and location.

BULK TANK

Automatic Top Up With automatic top up, Calor will automatically top up your tank throughout the year, without you ever having to phone in an order. Automatic top up is ideal for customers, who use gas for their central heating almost all year round.

Order Only If you decide to go on 'order only', you will need to contact our Customer Services department. They will give you the name and number of your nearest depot where you will ring to order your gas.
There is a gauge on the top of your tank which has an indicator showing the numbers 1-100. This shows the percentage of gas left in the tank. You should re-order your gas when the tank is 30% full. You should leave 5 working days for receiving your gas.

CALOR GAS CYLINDERS

There are two main types of gas cylinder available, Butane and Propane.

Calor Butane comes in yellow 11.34kg and 5kg cylinders.  They should be used only when they are being stored indoors. This is because Butane only vaporises at 0 degrees celsius, i.e. at any temperature below 0 degrees the gas is liquid and will not function as a gas.

Also regulators normally used with Butane are not designed for outdoor use they must be protected against the weather and water. Where a permanent outdoor supply is required, it is normally recommened to use propane.

Calor propane comes in a range of storage options, Calor bulk tank, large red Calor 34kg cylinders, large green Calor 47kg cylinders, and grey Calor 11.34kg Patio gas cylinders. 

Calor propane is stored outdoors, it vapourises at any temperature above -42 degrees celsius.

Cylinders are supplied by our network of Calor dealers and stockists which means that you will never be far from fresh stocks of gas.
