CALOR FOR BUSINESS

Horticulture and Agriculture

Independent businesses like horticulture, poultry rearing and farming are steadily discovering the benefits of a clean burning fuel that also produces useful side benefits such as CO2 when needed.

Free from the inflexible demands of mains power, you can provide yourself with the efficient and flexible heating systems you need.

Horticulture

Large scale commercial horticultural operations need controlled temperature conditions. They also need a CO2 enriched environment for enhanced growth crop yield.

Most Calor Gas systems - while supplying the heating required - produce CO2 as a by-product.

If your plants need high humidity to thrive and prosper, the kind of heat that Calor Gas provides can be the ideal answer.

For frost protection in glass houses and polytunnels, Calor Gas direct fired air handling units, sited in a fixed position, can raise the temperature in the largest of polytunnels within minutes. These units, which also produce CO2 can be operated fully automatically with modulating burner output, maximising efficiency, and fully programmable time/clock temperature control and frost protection over-ride facility.

For the small scale grower there is a range of mobile heaters, which can be moved to different glasshouses or polytunnels as required. Where air movement is a requirement, high level indirect fired unit air heaters offer further options when heating and CO2 enrichment are required.

Poultry Rearing

If you need accurate zone control over small or large areas, a Calor Gas radiant heating system provides the ideal solution. These fixed overhead heaters only heat the ground below and not the surrounding air. Also, they do not create air currents which disturb the atmosphere and raise dust.

Stubble Burning

Fast, flexible and controllable as many farmers have found, Calor stubble burners are by far the most efficient way of tillage clearance and soil sterilisation.
